The Business Partner Agreement

A Business Partner agreement with System & Method is a commercial arrangement. The Business Partner sells and represents the Sitemule Software Suite to their customers. System & Method provides the product, the licensing, the support infrastructure, and the technical expertise behind it.

Is a Business Partner agreement right for you?

If you have an established IBM i practice and want to carry Sitemule products as part of your commercial portfolio, a Business Partner agreement is the right arrangement. You do not need to build on the platform or integrate with it technically. The scope - full suite or a defined subset - is adjusted to your market, vertical, or existing competency and agreed individually.

If you want to build on or integrate deeply with the platform, see Technology Alliance Partner. If you operate as an individual consultant or developer rather than as a business with an established customer base, see Affiliate Partner.

What the agreement covers

Scope. A Business Partner agreement covers the Sitemule platform - either the full suite or a defined subset adjusted to a specific business area, vertical, or local market. A Business Partner focused on communications infrastructure may represent BlueSeries and the related modules. One with a 5250 modernization practice may focus on IceCap and Workspace. One with a broader IBM i consultancy may carry the full platform. The scope is agreed individually.

Commercial terms. Revenue structure, certification requirements, marketing support, and technical onboarding are agreed individually based on the Business Partner's market, customer base, and existing IBM i competencies. Agreements are non-exclusive by geography as a starting point.

Support. System & Method provides the product, licensing, support infrastructure, and technical expertise. The Business Partner owns the customer relationship and serves as the first-line commercial contact. Technical escalations come back to System & Method.

The market

IBM i installations that have not yet been modernized represent a large, largely uncontested commercial opportunity. The organizations running them have typically deferred modernization for years. Sitemule provides a credible path forward that does not require rewriting existing code - which is the primary reason modernization has been deferred in the first place.

Blueprint, currently the most active area of development within the Sitemule suite, addresses the additional challenge of making decades of accumulated IBM i business logic visible and accessible to modern systems and AI. It is the product attracting the most new interest in the market at this time.

Requirements

Business Partners are expected to maintain a working knowledge of the Sitemule platform, meet a minimum annual volume agreed at the time of signing, and adhere to the commercial and communication protocols set out in the agreement.

Terms

Agreements are non-exclusive; multiple Business Partners may cover the same market. The specifics - including revenue structure, certification requirements, marketing support, and technical onboarding - are agreed individually based on the Business Partner's market, customer base, and existing IBM i competencies.
